General Manager and President Dennis Groves works along side of his two sons, Scott and Cameron to provide our customers with a friendly family feel to every time they arrive at Coast Mountain GM. Over the years in Smithers, Dennis's wife Jo Ann and youngest daughter Sharlene have also been employed as part of our family business.

We are committed to this community and it is evident in the many hours of volunteer work the family and staff puts in every year with different organizations in the Bulkley Valley. A successful small business is the result of making sure you look after the community that looks after you.

Dennis Groves
General Manager

Dennis was born in Calgary AB and then moved to the lower mainland soon after where he was raised and attended all of his schooling. In 1974 Dennis and his wife Jo Ann left the lower mainland and moved to the Cariboo, living, working and raising their family in the Williams Lake area until 1995 when the made the move to Smithers to start their own family dealership. Dennis and Jo Ann raised four children, Scott, Lisa, Sharlene and Cameron. Jo Ann has been actively involved in Smithers Council currently sitting on her third term as a Councilor and first term as Deputy Mayor. Sharlene and Jo Ann have been involved in their own small business "Cloud Nine Esthetics" since 2010.

Dennis and Jo Ann enjoy golfing, travelling and spending quality time with their grandchildren at the lake in the summer.

Scott Groves
Business Development Manager

Scott is the oldest of the four children. Scott and his wife Lori-Ann have three sons, Lucas, Logan and Spencer who where all born in Smithers. Prior to 1995 Scott and his wife were living in Lori-Ann's home town of Burns Lake where they were married in 1993.

Scott has served many different positions at Coast Mountain GM starting out in the sales department and then moving over to the parts and service departments in 1999. Currently as business development manager he assists in all aspects of the dealership ensuring that our customers are looked after in a professional and courteous manner.

With three active sons Scott and Lori-Ann spend many hours at the ball fields and hockey rink. Scott is currently the Vice President of the Smithers Chamber of Commerce and has been involved with the Bulkley Valley Kinsmen since 1996.

In his spare time Scott enjoys spending time fishing and camping with his family as well as the odd round of golf when time permits

Cameron Groves
Sales Manager

Cameron is the youngest of the four children. Cameron and his wife Margret have two children of their own, McKinley and Connor, both who were born in Smithers. Prior to moving to Smithers Cameron attended high school in 100 Mile House. Cameron met his wife Margret in Smithers and they were married in Margret’s home province of Nova Scotia in 2007.

Cameron first started his career in the service department before transitioning to the sales department in 2000. He is currently the Sales Manager and is responsible for ensuring that we have an excellent selection of both new and used vehicles for our customers to choose from.

In his spare time Cameron enjoys many different outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Cameron and Margret also enjoy softball and recreational hockey as well.
