After a thorough redesign, the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt is back with an impressive array of functionality, performance, range, and value. Here's everything you want to know about the pioneer of electric vehicles.
When buying any similar vehicle on the market, the first thing any buyer does is compare prices. When the difference between one product and another is small, they look at features, driving characteristics, etc.
But when the difference is close to $7,000, it's a game-changer.
This is the case with the Chevrolet Bolt. With a starting price of $38,198, it's a clear advantage over the vast majority of competitors that are priced at the $45,000 mark. The Bolt is further discounted by its $5,000 Federal EV incentive.
Charging options are the same with any electric vehicle. A simple 120V outlet, but that takes forever. A level 2 charging station, is usually ideal for the home. Finally, a fast-charging station on a public network, but requires a larger outlay for each charge.
The Bolt will offer something more to buyers. First, for those who want to have a Level 2 charging station installed at home, Chevrolet will pay the installation fee.
For those willing to wait a bit, the model will eventually be available with the utility model (Bolt EUV) cable. The Bolt EUV offers a simple 120V connection, but also a 240V connection, eliminating the need to have a Level 2 charging station installed at home.
Thus, there are other savings to be made.
And speaking of other savings, we need to look at the range. And what does that have to do with anything? Well, the Bolt has a range of 417 kilometres. However, because of its highly efficient regenerative system, it's possible, with a few adjustments to how you drive, to significantly increase that range. In other words, reaching 450 km on a full charge becomes very possible.
